TREKKING ROUTES : The forest department has made arrangements for trekking, in the Eravikulam National Park and in its surroundings, including Anamudy. Trekking may be conducted to the dense forests of the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary. Prior sanction should be obtained from the authorities beforehand. Further, the areas from Gap Road to Bisonvalley Spices Village, from Pothamedu, Attukad etc. to 20 Acre Kunchithanny Spice Villages (viaIruttala) etc. are also quite suitable for trekking. On the way from Pothamedu to 20 Acre or Kunchithanny, we can go through tea gardens, cardamom plantations, Spice villages etc. It will prove to be as amusing experience. A very important point to be noted is that for trekking, the assistance of an experienced guide should be arranged well in advance. There is also a trekking route from Top Station to Kodaikkanal.
